What is HPAT?

The HPAT (Health Professions Admissions Test) is a standardised test used by universities in Ireland as part of their admissions criteria to undergraduate medicine courses. It is also used in the application process for an MSc in Occupational Therapy at the University of Limerick. The HPAT is a test that assesses critical thinking, problem solving, emotional intelligence and non-verbal reasoning. Around 1 in 6 students who sit the HPAT will secure a place in medicine, and thorough preparation and practice are necessary to score highly.
