HPAT Foundations

A structured introduction to the HPAT — designed for students starting early

This course is for students who want to gain an early understanding of the exam, without the intensity of full exam preparation. It introduces core skills assessed in the HPAT and explains how these skills are tested, developed, and refined over time. You will learn what the HPAT involves, become familiar with HPAT-style questions, develop confidence with the style of thinking required, and make informed decisions about future preparation.

Students who later enrol in a full Ace the HPAT course can offset the €75 HPAT Foundations fee against the cost of that course.

What the course includes

• A series of introductory video and modular lessons covering the structure and purpose of each HPAT section
• 3 full-length HPAT-style exams, with worked solutions
• Guided examples demonstrating how HPAT questions are approached and analysed
• On-demand access, allowing students to work at their own pace

The focus is on understanding how the HPAT works, rather than mastering exam technique.

HPAT Foundations does not replace full HPAT preparation.
Students in 6th year, or those within one year of sitting the HPAT, are strongly advised to enrol in a full Ace the HPAT course.
